Eosinophilic gastroenteritis

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis. A rare, almost unheard of 'labelling' of one of many autoimmune conditions.

In my case, the condition is rarer still. The Eosinophilic buildup, in my case is in the Duodenum - the entrance from the stomach into the small intestine.

See that large blob over there? Well, it's not actually large, its microscopic. But it's relatively large in comparison. That - that blob is an Eosinophil, one variant of white blood cells, on a blood stain/smear sample. Surrounding it are other blood cells, or RBC. (Red blood cells.)
What's so important about my condition is that I have way too many of these white blood cells in a condenses area. These white blood cells (Eosinophils, in my case) come out in full steam when they are aroused and are needed to fight infection or illness. In my case, these Eosinophils are actually reacting allergically to themselves. So, in some kind of creepy way, my body's immune system is actually attacking itself - like Asthma does. So yes, it's autoimmune. And I'm told its harmless. But my doctors are also slightly clueless....

So, as I have mentioned before, my condition means that I am highly allergic to certain types of foods. (Be that, most of them.) My biggest allergies are Egg, Wheat, Dairy, Seafood and Salycilates. (That cuts out just about everything.) The allergy is actually caused by these sensitive little Eosinophils reacting to a substance in or on the food.

Here I have included a link to the Wikipedia article on Eosinophillic Gastroenteritis as well as pasted a few inserts.
