Photos (of sunrise & sunset)

Did you know there are no two sunsets alike? (Nor sunrises, for that matter.)

"Creation is God's canvas, on display, and He is the artist." - unknown

All of these were taken by me (my Petax X70) at many various locations. (underexposure in some.) (And yes, they are copyright.)

Love - a quote.

For our family Bible study a couple of months ago we studied emotions. While the study itself was extremely interesting on its own, one very intruguing scripture verse appeared to jump off the page at me. Puzzling though it was, I determined to discover some more of the meaning behind it. And this is the half of the result, which was written at 11:30 later that night on the back page of my Bible. The verse which so inspired me, (the second half of verse 6)

"For Love is as strong as death, it's jealousy as unyeilding as the grave. It burns like a blazing fire, like a mighty flame."
Song of Solomon 8:6

The quote.

"And We ask, "What is love?"
Love is the act of sacrifice.
When one lays down their
own life for that of another.
The depths of this gift cannot
be understood until one
knows what it is to live.

"For God so loved the world
that He gave His one and only
Son."

Thus we must go and do likewise.

For we cannot love until we
know what it is to be loved,
nor can we truly lay down
our life until we understand
the meaning of sacrifice.

Love and sacrifice are one in
that Love is selfless.

Therefore Love is not a thing,
but rather a state of being.
It cannot be understood, nor
true love changed.
Love is."

My New Boots!

The awesome thing about having slightly smaller feet than everyone else in your family... is the ability to fit into kid's size 5. And even awesomer boots, right?

Updates..

Now for probably the first very unfinished (not very well edited) post. I'll call it an update. Well, the wedding is over. I'll make a huge-ish post when I get some photos (which will be 'official' ones) but the quick briefing for now is...
It was a brilliant day. Aside from the 2 inches of rain the day before, which caused the bride to entirely freak out, God had it sorted. Due to the soggy mess the rain made the farm into, the wedding was moved to a local church which became an amazing place for it to be hosted - just enough room for 130 guests and completely dry. The day began with many tears and ended aweomely -for the families, very late.
So, yes. More updates eventually (hopefully within the next few days) and many thanks to all the people for their prayers. It was a very special day, and still completely unreal.

Weddings On the Brain!

So many people have chosen September for a Spring Wedding!

For an update, my sister's getting married exactly a week from yesterday! I also spent the entirity of yesterday (03rd Sept, Sat) photographing a wedding alonside a professional photographer. (That's an assistant to professional photographer, my sister calls me an Aspho -whatever that be.)
Aside from the many thousands of photos taken, my yesterday was extremely busy and exciting as the wedding business (people I didn't know, either) made me so much more excited for my sister's wedding.

I also ran into one of my Camp friends (was hugely shocked, actually) which I shall elaborate on later, and had so much fun watching the family go through such a special time. And there's the feeling that my sister's wedding is going to be a very emotional day for everyone, behind the scenes, if anything. I almost cried at a stranger's wedding! (The Father & Daughter dance was beautiful.) Mum thinks photographers are not supposed to fall apart at a wedding. Oops!

Anyway, it's all happening! For those of you watching for wedding stuff, It will be on here as soon as possible!!! I'll end with 'prayers would be much appreciated' for Lizzy & Stephen as they get that little bit closer to marriage.
(Drawing's mine again, a quick sketch as practice for the huge wooden signs I have to paint so people don't lose their way to the wedding. I'd say they'll be hard to miss. Black paint and paintbrush, here I come!)

Agape

That's A-gap-e, not agape - the difference being in the pronunciation. The below (call it slightly odd) painting was inspired by a Church service a few months ago; one which focused on the four different kinds of Love and their Biblical/Root Word meanings. One of these words that really stood out was Agape; that is, unconditional love. On my return home I painted the below. Be it unusual, this is one of those inspirations between God and a person. For those of you that are wondering what it is, stretch your imaginations a little. That it might be....A pinkinsh/flame sunset with the rising moon over the ocean.(Still confused? Probably an artist's interpretation, if that's the case. Again, image/painting is copyright me.)
